Advocacy for Child and Youth Welfare

The Working Group for Child and Youth Welfare (AGJ) fulfills its goals, tasks, offerings, and services at various levels:

• In its dealings with the legislature (executive and legislative branches), the AGJ takes a stance through statements and recommendations; to this end, it compiles and evaluates the professional insights and positions of its members.
• Through proposals, recommendations for action, and position papers on the work and practice of child and youth welfare, as well as through various types of events addressing key tasks and topics in child and youth welfare, the AGJ is constantly committed to the further development and improvement of working conditions in the field of child and youth welfare.

Statements, Position Papers, Working Materials, and Publications

The AGJ’s work products—in particular its statements, discussion papers, and position papers —are generally published. AGJ members and members of its committees are provided with the AGJ’s working materials and position statements in a timely manner and are offered brochures and publications produced in-house. The AGJ also informs the professional community about its work results, offerings, and services through the national trade press, its journal *FORUM Jugendhilfe*, its website, and its social media activities. The professional community and the general public can access the latest annual reports via the AGJ’s website. The AGJ provides a wide range of informational materials, including the journal FORUM Jugendhilfe, which is published four times a year. FORUM Jugendhilfe offers professionals in child and youth welfare information about the AGJ’s work, articles and reports on various topics, and details about events in the field of child and youth welfare, as well as documents, texts, position papers, and statements on current issues and initiatives in child and youth welfare. The AGJ website (www.agj.de) provides information about the AGJ’s responsibilities and services. It also covers the AGJ’s professional positions as well as current events and publications.
